About Isobel

Lotus Lashes is a specialist lash extension salon offering bespoke lash services as well as tailored brow treatments, based in Glasgow’s south-side.

Owner, Isobel, is committed to providing her clients with an exceptional salon experience as well as fabulous lashes and brows.

“In 2016 I decided to leave my life-long retail career behind to embark in a new career in the beauty industry.  I quit my job and gave myself 4 months to train, qualify and find a job in the lash extension sector. I succeeded! My first job in a salon was a huge learning curve for me but stood me in good stead to then, within that same year, go out on my own as self-employed, sub-letting a small salon space to eventually opening my own stand -alone salon a year later.

Isobel is continuously investing in advancing her skills to ensure her clients receive the best treatment using the most up-to-date techniques with the best quality products and has trained with and been accredited by Lash Perfect, Eyelash Excellence, Flawless Lashes by Loreta and HD Brows.

Terms & Conditions

All new clients or those returning after an absence of 6 months, must attend a patch test appointment a minimum of 24 hours before any full service commencing. This applies to all services at Lotus Lashes

No under 16’s permitted for any service

You must attend your appointment alone (including no children)

Lash extensions cannot be applied to pregnant clients after 16 weeks, nor can tint

Please do not wear make-up to any appointment as the time taken to clean this off prior to treatment will be part of your allocated appointment time and extra time will not be added

Lotus Lashes does not infill other salon’s work. Please book the lash extension removal service with your full set lash appointment

If you cancel within 24 hours of your booked appointment time, there will be a charge applied to your registered payment card (50% of value of the treatment) to compensate Lotus Lashes if the slot cannot be filled by another client. If appointment slot can be filled in time, then no charge will be applied.

If you are a No Show to the booked appointment then 100% fee will be charged, and you will be banned from booking future appointments

If you feel you will be late for your appointment, please contact Lotus Lashes as soon as possible. However, if Isobel is attending another client, please be aware there may not be a response to you right away. Also, your appointment may not be extended unless at Lotus Lashes discretion

Clients who are unwell are asked to not attend the salon, to protect staff and other clients alike, but are asked to re-schedule their appointment. Late Cancellation fee will still be applied but if client reschedules this will be refunded at their next appointment.

Any issues or problems with your treatments at Lotus Lashes must be reported within 48 hours after leaving the salon for the problem to be rectified. Out-with this timeframe no remedial action by Lotus Lashes will be taken unless at their discretion.

Clients are given full aftercare instructions at their service in the form of written aftercare guidelines, so clients must assume responsibility for following these guidelines.

Clients must adhere to Covid protocols within the salon, eg no entry without a mask. A full instructional video can be viewed on Lotus Lashes Insta and FB

Why do I need a patch test?

Patch tests are in place to test you with all the products to be used in your treatment in-case of allergic reaction to any of them. So even if you have had similar treatments in another salon, they could be using completely different products. Also, you need re-patch tested if you haven’t been back to the salon in 6 months as a condition of Insurance.

What’s the difference between Hybrids and Russians?

In lashing there are 2 techniques: Classic and Russian Volume. Hybrid is a mix of both techniques, therefore, can be tailored to create a completely unique look just for you

How can I book an appointment?

There are Book Now links on all my socials and website which lead you to my services menu. Once you’ve chosen your service you will be led to an online diary so you can select a date/time that suits you. Or you can simply DM me via Instagram, email or messenger.

Why does it take so long for my lash appointment?

When it comes to Hybrid or Russian Volume, all the volume fans are hand-made individually to suit each individual natural lash. I need to assess the weight each lash can handle, then I need to create a fan to the desired density that not only your natural lash will support safely but will help create the look we are creating just for you. The Volume technique can’t be rushed for this reason.

I’m not sure what lashes I want, can you help me decide?

Lotus Lashes offers a 15-minute consultation and patch test which allows us time to chat about the look you desire and lets me see your lashes and eye shape so I can advise what lashes are suitable for you. We patch test products too at this stage to test for allergies. Also, there are lots of images in the highlights part of my Instagram page which can help guide you.

I have lashes on already from another salon, can I come to you for an infill?

I don’t infill another salon’s work for several reasons: I don’t know the quality of the work and so my quality may be different and therefore not blend. I don’t know the style they have chosen for your eye shape and may not be able to replicate it to blend in. I don’t know which Curl, diameter nor lengths they have used so I may not be able to match these to blend in.

How do you know when to come for an infill?

Infills should just be that: to fill in gaps and spaces where extensions have shed or fallen off. The longer you leave between visits to the salon the more gaps will naturally happen, so visits between 2-3 weeks is best. 

Think of it like this: a typical Hybrid set takes 2 hours to cover 100% natural lashes. So that’s 50% attached per hour. 

If after 2 weeks you have 50% left then I only need 1hour appt to fill back to 100%. If after 3 weeks you have less than 50% left then I need the 1.5hour infill appt to get you to 100%.

I have Classics on just now but fancy trying Russians or Hybrids, do I need these removed to start afresh?

No, you don’t need to. I practice a lash technique called 1:1 which means 1 extension to 1 natural lash. Therefore, I can simply remove any Classic lash extension and add in a hand-made fan to migrate from one style into another. Some styles may take more than 1 visit to achieve this though.

The 1:1 technique allows me to be able to offer versatility to clients so we can change their lash look around without the expense of a new set each time.

Eg Classics to Hybrids (Hybrids being a mix of Classic and Russian Volume): I remove 50% of the existing Classic lashes and add in 50% of Russian Volume fans. This gives a Hybrid look immediately in one visit. You would book a Russian infill to achieve this

Eg Classics to Russian Volume: I would remove a Classic lash and add in a Russian Volume fan one at a time until either we run out of appt time or lashes, whichever comes first. Not fully achievable in one visit. You would book a Russian infill to achieve this

Eg Hybrids to Classics: I would remove a Russian Volume fan and add a Classic lash one at a time until we run out of appt time or lashes, whichever comes first. Achievable in 1 visit. You would book a Classic infill to achieve this

Eg Russian Volume to Hybrids (Hybrids being a mix of Classic and Russian Volume): I would remove 50% of the Russian Volume fans and add in Classic lashes. Achievable in one visit. You would book a Classic infill to achieve this

My extensions are gappy and falling off, but I don’t know why?

There are many factors which affect the retention, but we must first look at aftercare. Have you followed the aftercare instructions as discussed? Are you using the correct products to cleanse your lashes? Are you avoiding oily products on your eyelid? If you feel you have followed all the instructions as discussed, we then need to look at lifestyle. Do you swim, use sunbeds, saunas frequently? Do you work in a humid environment? Do you tend to sleep on your face? Are you on medication? Have you been ill? Do you have hormonal issues? All these things can affect natural lashes which in turn affects extensions. 

Lotus Lashes offers 48-hour guarantee on their lashes so any issues within 48 hours will be rectified provided correct aftercare has been followed.

Can I wear make-up with lash extensions?

As long as the make-up can be removed with water and lash cleanser alone, then liner and shadow is fine. Rule of thumb: if make-up cannot be removed with water and lash cleanser then it will likely contain oil so should be avoided.

Please note mascara should never be worn on lash extensions as they will clump together, and the glue bond will be compromised when trying to remove the mascara. If you feel you want your extensions to be fuller/darker then we recommend discussing the infill options at you next appointment.

Lash Lift

A lash lift is a procedure where the natural lashes are chemically lifted from the root to a desired curl to give a natural uplifted look. Great for opening the eye up and showing the natural lash length.

What is a lash lift?

This is a process where lotions are applied to lashes for a specific time, according to the condition, so they can be lifted and set in that position

What happens during a lash lift appointment?

Your lashes are measured against a shield which determines the lift, whether gentle through to dramatic. 

The shield is glued to the eyelid using a water-soluble treatment-specific glue, then the lashes are gently glued onto the curve of this shield to secure into place.

Lotions are applied to specific timings, then tint.

After completion the shield is gently removed, and all residues are cleaned away.

Final step is applying a conditioning serum.

How long will it last?

Generally, 6-8 weeks. Clients will find their natural lashes will gradually relax over time back to natural position. Health and lifestyle can affect how quickly this happens

Does getting a lash lift hurt?

No, the treatment may feel a bit strange ( ie having the shield glued onto your eye lid) but is not uncomfortable or painful in any way

What happens during an HD Brow treatment?

Step 1- Consultation

We have a chat about what you would like your brows to look like. We then discuss a plan of action on how we can achieve this desired look, setting realistic expectations. Then we talk you through the further steps of the treatment, agreeing on colour, density, shape before we begin.

Step 2-Colour

We will custom blend HD tint to achieve the desired colour and tone to compliment your own unique skin tone and hair colour before applying to your brows.

Step 3-Shape

 We will measure specific points of your face and brow using HD mapping techniques to create a shape that not only compliments your own unique face structure but works toward achieving the overall look you desire and are working towards achieving.

We show you areas that may need re-growth or area’s that hair needs to be removed. Only when you are happy with this plan will any hair removal proceed.

Step 4-Removal

 We will remove unwanted brow hair using removal techniques such as waxing, tweezing, trimming and threading whilst using HD exclusive products to minimise the risk of redness and grazing of the skin.

I have very sparse brows from over plucking, will HD Brows be suitable for me?

We will analyse your brows to establish a re-growth programme specifically for you and recommend products which may help stimulate growth. At consultation your stylist will help with establishing realistic goals. Results from over-plucked or sparse brows may take a long time, so a re-growth programme and patience is key

I’m pregnant, am I still able to have HD Brow treatment?

Pregnant or breast-feeding clients can still have the HD Brow treatment minus the tint.

This also applies to those under age 16 years.

I’ve had HD Brows before, elsewhere, why do I still have to patch test?

A patch test is to test you with products in-case of allergic reaction. With HD tint this must be done 48 hours before your appointment. However, the treatment can still go ahead, minus the tint, should you not patch test beforehand. A record of your patch test is held as a condition of salon Insurance.

How long do HD Brows last?

The effect of the treatment can last 4-6 weeks but this all depends on client’s own hair growth rate and aftercare.

Can I swim with HD Brows?

Only if you wait at least 48 hours to allow the waxed skin to settle. If you are a frequent swimmer, please note that your tint colour may fade quicker.

Can I tan with HD Brows?

Only if you wait for 48 hours after to let the waxed skin to settle. Please note, you should avoid tanning for 48 hours before your HD Brow treatment too: Fake tan can alter the tint colour and sunbed/sun exposure can make your skin more sensitive.

Can I have HD Brows after Botox?

We recommend you do not have an HD Brow treatment done for 6 weeks after having Botox or fillers. Wait until these have settled as they may affect the height/shape of your brows

Are there any side effects from having HD Brows done?

Although the treatment is carried out to the highest standards and a skin sensitivity test is performed 48 hours before the treatment, complications can still occur. You may experience small spots, skin bumps, skin grazing, redness, swelling, itching. 

Some medications can make the skin more sensitive, and some can thin the skin. Please declare any skin/ medication issues at your consultation appointment.

A brow lamination procedure is where the brow hair is chemically treated to straighten and lift the hairs in order to be styled into a desired shape. Creates a fuller brow look.

What is Brow Lamination?

This is a process where lotions are applied to your brows for a specific time, according to the condition and type of brow hair you have, which allow the hair to be manipulated into a brushed-up position creating a fuller, fluffy brow look.

The brows can be left in this position or brushed down to give a more fluffy but groomed look.

How long does it last?

Generally, 6 weeks although this can vary according to hair and skin type as well as aftercare and lifestyle.

The treatment should not be repeated for at least 6 weeks to avoid over dry, brittle brows.

How do I look after my brows after this treatment?

We recommend keeping them dry for at least 24 hours initially and then treating them with a moisturising serum or lightweight oil a few times per week to keep the brow hair soft and in good condition.
